Rolex ref. 869 Unusual 18k Yellow/White Gold 1930s
This isn’t your average Rolex. Here we have an unusual ref 869 from the 1930s. This example features a solid 18k yellow gold hinge case with 18k white gold lugs. At 30 × 24mm this was considered to be quite a large size for the time period. It’s an extremely wearable size by today’s standards and is akin to a Cartier Tank Louis. However the case features a slight curvature that hugs the wrist perfectly. The dial features oversized arabic numerals which pop against its silvered finish.
